Red is the hotel’s color, its sign, but is also ascribed to Danny, who always wears some red clothing during his ESP episodes. It is the concrete poetry of a bloody warning. It is an event of blood, the outpouring of the Overlook Hotel’s evil persona, flooding the psyche and covering the eye of the camera.
