Simply put: it is smashing! Now there are two kinds of people who will be watching this movie – those who’ve read the books, and those who haven’t. The filmmakers, lead by Order of the Phoenix helmer David Yates, thoroughly understand what makes the books so special – the characters. And while all the spectacle is intact, it’s the relationships that put this film on par with the series best (namely Phoenix and Azkaban). Those uninitiated in the books may scratch their heads at some of the goings-on, but this is not necessarily a film for them. HP and company are journeying into dark territory, and the huge box office returns should indicate they’re not alone…
